Agility employees plant a commitment to the environment

Agility teams around the world are working to green the world, in a global demonstration of the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.

In Kuwait, more than 1,000 employees volunteered to plant trees at three office locations on Earth Day 2009. The event was part of Agility's Green Steps campaign, which promotes a sense of environmental responsibility and has been responsible for planting 6,000 trees across Kuwait in the last year.

In Santa Ana, California, Agility employees and their friends and family gathered at Santa Ana Park Nature Reserve on April 18, 2009, for the Park Naturalist Program's Park Restoration Day. Participants planted native trees and shrubs to help restore the 35-acre parkland, which was devastated by a forest fire in 2007 but is beginning to see a successful return of wildlife and vegetation.

In Hamburg, Germany, Agility employees took part in a huge community cleanup on Elbe seaside, one of the area's most popular summer destinations. As part of a record crowd more than 50,000 strong, Agility volunteers collected 280 tons of waste for recycling and disposal in just over a week. The event was so successful that the sponsors, Hamburg's sanitation department and the Authority for Urban Development and the Environment, are already planning a similar event in 2010.

In Beijing, 20 Agility employees participated in a tree planting event organized by the China International Intellectech Corporation (CCIC) as both a symbolic and practical response to the city's notorious pollution and harmful emissions.

And in Turkey, Agility donated to TEMA, a foundation dedicated to combating soil erosion and deforestation while supporting the protection of natural habitats.
