Agility launches Global Volunteer Month
May 2008 marked Agility’s first Global Volunteer Month with over 25 Agility offices participating worldwide. Volunteer programs throughout the month supported a wide range of needs -- from disaster relief to educational programs. In the Americas, 10 offices took on a variety of projects from collecting food, clothing, and supplies for charities like the Salvation Army to raising money for breast cancer awareness and other organizations. Employees in Europe walked for the World Food Program, the British Heart Foundation, and Oxfam, among others. In Asia and the Middle East, projects concentrated on providing relief for disaster victims, alleviating poverty, and helping children. In total, more than 750 employees spent over 1500 hours walking, running, and volunteering, raising thousands of dollars for charity and contributing over 175 boxes/bags of clothing and 300 bags of dry goods.
