Building a School in Jebel Siraj
The Agility Afghanistan team is building a school in a township about 50 kilometers outside of Kabul. Currently, many parents of young children, especially of girls, are afraid to send their kids to the primary school, which is five kilometers out of town. Most parents do not have the resources to transport their children safely. The one school in the area would rapidly become overcrowded, even if they could. In response, Agility is building an eight-room school in Jebel Siraj that will eventually accommodate up to 400 children, studying in two four-hour shifts. We are partnering with the government of Afghanistan, which will provide teachers when the construction is finished
