Beat Simon is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agility Europe which encompasses 25 countries and over 3,000 employees. As CEO and a Management Board member of Agility’s Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) division, Mr. Simon is responsible for driving the company’s performance across Europe and leading the expansion of the business to new and emerging markets within the region.
Mr. Simon is based out of Agility’s office in Basle, Switzerland.
Prior to joining Agility in 2006, Mr. Simon was Panalpina’s CEO for Latin America, where he successfully led the company’s regional business activities. During his tenure, he also served as a member of Panalpina’s Executive Board. Before this, he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Panalpina Americas, based in Miami, U.S.A, and Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs Latin America, based in Basle, Switzerland.
Mr. Simon started his career with Danzas where, over the course of 17 years, he held various management roles. In the last seven years at Danzas, Mr. Simon successfully led business operations in the Americas as managing director in several countries.
Mr. Simon is a Harvard Business School Alumnus (AMP) and completed senior management schooling at the Universidad de la Sabana in Colombia. He holds a diploma of the Basle School of Commerce and is fluent in German, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
Mr. Simon is an active member of the Propeller and Rotary Clubs. He regularly attends World Economic Forum summits and gives speeches at various logistics and economic events.
Mr. Simon is married and has one daughter.
