Elias Monem - Biography

Elias Monem is the Agility Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa region and has been with the organization since 2005. His scope of responsibilities includes leading the group's operations and other business development initiatives in the region, covering 11 countries and a total workforce of more than 9,000 people.

With almost 19 years experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, Mr. Monem contributes to the growth and expansion of Agility's strong presence in the Middle East and has established the regional team for the ME & Africa geography to align and optimize offerings in the region. Agility has won several regional awards during this period, including four awards at the Middle East Logistics Awards and the Gulf Excellence Forum Award in 2006. Mr. Monem is also responsible for developing the growing markets in Egypt, Turkey, and other operations in Africa.

Prior to joining Agility, Mr. Monem worked with Airlink International for almost 17 years, which he had transformed into a leading freight forwarder and logistics provider in the UAE. During his tenure there, Mr. Monem planned for and established one of the largest 3PL facilities in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Additionally, with the transformation of Dubai as the ME hub for shows and events, he focused on becoming the leading logistics provider for high profile events in the UAE, including but not limited to, the Dubai Air Show, IDEX etc.

Mr. Monem holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut and has also attended the International College of Lebanon.

Married with three children, Mr. Monem enjoys swimming, playing basketball and squash whenever his busy schedule permits.
