Meeting the Challenges of World Expo 2010 Shanghai

Shanghai World Expo had a record number of 73 million visitors for the period May 1 – Oct 31, 2010. With an average of 400,000 daily visitors and a peak of 1.03 million visitors on Oct 16, there was exceptional demand for chilled and frozen products and food in all of the Expo’s on-site restaurants. Agility ensured the safety and hygiene of all products and that supply could match demand for all food and beverage needs.

Official Cold Chain Logistics Provider

As the official Cold Chain logistics provider for the Expo, Agility provided a range of services to ensure that all chilled and frozen products were transported and stored in the right manner, keeping them in optimum condition. Agility’s Cold Chain logistics services ensured that products shipped from within or outside China reached the Expo site as required. Agility provided a full range of transportation and storage services in Shanghai and surrounding areas and at the actual Expo site, including onsite storage and delivery.

Agility had four Cold Chain facilities on site with a total of over 10,000 sq. m. of space to provide storage for all products. Each facility had multi-temperature controls for frozen (-18 deg.C), chilled (0-10 deg.C), and air conditioned (15-25 deg.C) products.
