World Wide Safes - Special Projects Solution

Customer Profile

Gunnebo is one of the world’s largest providers of security products such as safes as well as systems and services where large flows of money, people and goods demand a high level of safekeeping.

With more than 5,900 employees and subsidiaries in 29 countries, Gunnebo is a Swedish-based holding company headquartered in Gothenburg with an annual turnover of 640 MEUR in 2009.

Gunnebo clients include banks, retail operations, airports, nuclear plants, embassies, high-risk public buildings and any other facilities requiring high security solutions.

Customer Challenge

Gunnebo was awarded a contract from the European Union to supply safes to 128 offices in 125 countries within 18 months. Challenging regions included countries within Latin America, Cap Verde, and Ouagaducu, Africa and the Far East. The task was to coordinate International transport through to the final customer, deal with customs authorities and clear all cargo in a timely fashion. Once at port, safes needed to be transported to each embassy building and installed inside each room on different floors. Most of the logistics companies could offer Gunnebo only partial services.

Agility Solution

Our Project Logistics specialists have the know –how, experience, and resources to coordinate these kinds of projects throughout the world. They combine our network of freight forwarding products capabilities with the correct partner per country, creating a solution that answered the specific requirements of Gunnebo.

Agility provided special equipment like cranes and helpers that even dismantled windows if needed. These operations were supervised on site with European technicians from Gunnebo. The time window for the transport, installation and organization of material and manpower was narrow and the Agility team was able to deliver successfully. The Agility solution for Gunnebo included Air-, Sea and Road Freight services, customs clearance, and coordination of manpower in order to do the final delivery inside designated buildings and installation of safes within to over 30 destinations all over the world.

Before shipping the cargo, Agility needed to take care of all documentation in order to comply with local regulations. Agility also coordinated site pre-visits to determine and organize which equipment, further documentation, governmental and traffic
