Our customer is an international manufacturer of material flow systems, logistics systems and logistics software. More than 50 subsidiaries worldwide are part of the family-owned company. Core competencies are systems, components and software for warehouse automation. The product range includes a wide variety of equipment from individual conveyor belts to complete storage, materials handling and order-picking plants.Customer Challenge
The order was to transport and install 1,000 tons of steel profiles for a 30 meter tall racking system in Mecca. The system was to secure the beverage operation for over two million pilgrims.
There were two special requirements: firstly, access to Mecca is restricted to Muslims only and secondly, the transport handling asked for in-depth knowledge of customs and country-specific regulations regarding transport and packaging.

Thanks to the sound knowledge of our logistics experts, the containers with their perfectly packaged profiles passed the border to Saudi Arabia without problems.
Then the 1,000 ton cargo was shipped on time to Mecca, where our specialists took over.
With daytime temperatures reaching 52 degrees centigrade, the work had to be done at night – at a relatively cooler 38 degrees centigrade. Despite the difficult conditions, Agility was able to finish the racking system on time.
