The STARCO Group has developed into Europe’s leading supplier of tyres, tubes, wheels, complete wheels, stub axles etc. for the aftermarket and for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) segments: Trailer and Caravan, Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Machinery.

The STARCO Group is a family-owned Danish company with 27 assembly and distribution companies strategically placed throughout Europe and Central Asia. The group owns steel wheel factories in Croatia, China and Switzerland and a plastic wheel and polyurethane tyre factory in the UK.

Customer’s Challenge

STARCO was looking for a logistics service provider who could give them visibility throughout the supply chain while sourcing their products from various ports in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Taiwan. They required customs clearance and ocean freight shipment solutions for full container loads from Asia into Germany and Denmark.

Agility’s Solution

A team of dedicated Agility Ocean Freight and IT experts was established to manage and oversee the supply chain of products, from point of order through to management of the vessel capacity during seasonal peaks, as well as customs clearance.

Agility also provided a state of the art tracking tool that delivers significant time savings in tracking shipments. The system optimized the management of STARCO’s orders and greatly improved the visibility of their stock in transit.

This was key to Agility’s success. The tracking tool enabled STARCO to manage and track purchase orders and shipments by booking and updating information online, creating tailor made reports and KPI alerts, amongst other functionalities. The tool is user friendly and helps STARCO shorten workflow and keep significantly smaller inventory, which leads to cost reductions.
