The Customer’s Challenge
Before teaming up with Agility, sanofi-aventis shipped products from six European origins to multiple Middle East destinations resulting in a sub-optimal network of product flows. They needed a partner who would be able to create a reliable inbound supply chain solution ensuring distribution across the Middle East and temperature controlled storage.
Agility’s Solution
The Agility solution for sanofi-aventis included utilizing our experts and their collective experience. Our extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, combined with our network of freight forwarding products, specialty businesses, and logistics expertise, created a solution that answered the specific requirements of the sanofi-aventis team. Distributing pharmaceuticals within the Middle East demands a logistics industry specialist with an appropriate storage facility and visibility throughout the supply chain.
Agility implemented a distribution center model, consolidating all product flows into one regional hub. Agility now handles all of sanofi-aventis’ prescription drugs starting with import clearance at the seaport and airport, road transportation to Agility’s distribution center in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), storage, and delivery across the Middle East by land, sea and air.
The backbone of this operation is Agility’s 60,000 SQM distribution center in JAFZA where we provide inbound and outbound handling, inventory management and storage in multiple temperature zones. This state-of-the-art bonded warehouse is manned by dedicated staff, knowledgeable in the handling and storage of highly sensitive materials. They ensure that the temperature and humidity levels of sanofiaventis’s goods are monitored throughout the entire supply-chain, from the time they are transported to Agility’s distribution center, throughout the storage period, and as they are distributed to their final destination.
