Agility is an expert at delivering goods and services for customers in some of the world’s most challenging environments. It follows that these capabilities are readily adaptable to crisis situations stemming from natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and tsunamis.
When disaster strikes Agility is ready to provide basic logistics services, such as transport, trucks, forklifts, warehousing and refrigeration, as well as share our deep expertise in supply chain management. Within hours, we can mobilize our global network, leverage our contacts with shipping companies and airlines, solicit employee donations and deploy trained employee volunteers to provide assistance on the ground. We are eager to put our resources and know-how to work when the going is tough.
In all cases of disaster relief, Agility works under the auspices of our humanitarian partners, the International Medical Corps and the World Economic Forum.
Humanitarian & Emergency Logistics Program (HELP)
The program is founded on our core logistics capabilities and knowledge of local markets, culture and language. Since 2006 Agility has donated relief to 20 disaster locations through its Humanitarian & Emergency Logistics Program (HELP). A short list includes:

Logistics Emergency Teams (LETS)
Agility, along with other private sector partners, has proudly participated in Logistics Emergency Teams (LETS) since they were first developed under the auspices of the World Economic Forum in 2008. These rapid response teams working at the direction of humanitarian partners, pool the resources offered by logistics firms and orchestrate the deployment of their resources, resulting in faster, more efficient delivery of goods and services to populations in greatest need. Agility has trained and deployed volunteers to support Logistics Emergency Teams in Indonesia, Haiti, Myanmar, Pakistan and the Philippines.
Agility’s HELP program is the focus of an in-depth case study published by INSEAD, one of the world’s leading international business schools. The case study examines Agility’s leadership role in establishing a partnership network to orchestrate and expedite the delivery of medical supplies and goods to disaster stricken areas.
Spotlight: Pakistan floods
In August, 2010, Pakistan was devastated by the worst flooding in 80 years. The flooding affected tens of millions of people. Agility and their corporate partners activated their Logistics Emergency Team at the request of the UN Global Logistics Cluster. Agility donated warehouse space, seven trucks and 35 people to help the UN provide logistics services for humanitarian organizations on the ground. The Agility operation lasted eight weeks.
Spotlight: Myanmar cyclone
In May 2008, a Category 4 cyclone hit Myanmar, killing 146,000 people and displacing over 2 million others. Agility and their corporate partners were mobilized by the Global Logistics Cluster, comprising major United Nations (UN) agencies and international NGOs, to support the relief operations. Agility, along with their corporate partners worked as an integrated team on a daily basis with the UN to receive and dispatch cargo efficiently and quickly for 1.5 million people.
Spotlight: Indonesia earthquake
In October 2009, the city of Padang, Indonesia, was struck by a violent earthquake. Agility Indonesia operations dispatched a rotating team of 12 volunteers to lead the World Food Program’s (WFP) establishment of a centralized, multi-use warehouse; transport operations and operations headquarters. The Agility team donated 12 trucks for three weeks, along with warehouse space and operations management expertise.
