Kuwait: On November 3, 2007, Agility's Subsistence Prime Vendor (SPV) program reached an important milestone as its Freight Transportation Division welcomed the safe return of the 100,000th Agility truck from Iraq into Kuwait. Under the SPV contract, Agility supports the coalition in Iraq by providing essential food and services via a modern fleet of over 1,200 trucks. Everyday hundreds of Agility's drivers transverse the dangerous supply routes in Iraq driving refrigerated and dry vans, flatbeds, low beds and soft sides under military escort to feed the forces.
Agility has suffered the loss of more than 30 employees killed while on mission and over 235 casualties along dangerous convoy routes in the war zone. Not only do they bear the high cost of human lives but also experience significant equipment losses. To date, over 300 trucks have been destroyed and over 700 damaged. Under constant stress and tight deadlines, the drivers, fleet operations and support personnel continue to make the mission one of the most successful expeditionary logistical movements in history, unparallel by any other contractor in modern times.
The fortunate individual to complete the 100,000th mission into Iraq was one of Agility’s long-standing employees, Nasir Mehmood. Agility presented Mehmood with a certificate in recognition of his service and bravery.
