Over 80 employees, 750 hours, one home
The Kuwait Orphanage officially opened the refurbished Infant Nursery at their premises in Shuwaikh recently. Over 80 Agility employees spent a total of 750 hours during their spare time to refurbish the Infant Nursery at the Kuwait Orphanage. These employees worked hard for five months to provide a comfortable home for the children that will live there.
The work involved general cleaning, scraping off old paint from the walls and fresh paint, electrical fittings and fixtures, carpentry and plumbing. All the work was done by Agility employees with a little assistance from external contractors. The outside of the house was also attended to with painting, tiling and landscaping of a play garden. The house, unoccupied for years, was turned into a cheerful and comfortable living space with all the basic amenities.
Speaking at the formal handover ceremony, Dr. Manahi Al Azmi, supervisor employee and guest affairs, representing Bader Al Awadi, director of the Kuwait Orphanage, expressed his appreciation towards Agility employees for providing a well equipped and comfortable atmosphere to accommodate the children in without expecting any rewards in return. As a sign of appreciation, all the employees that worked on the refurbishment received plaques and certificates of recognition for their contributions to the project.
Tarek Sultan, Agility’s chairman and managing director said, “Agility has contributed to hundreds of community projects around the world, but this particular project – so close to home - was also particularly close to the hearts of our employees. We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to lend a helping hand in our communities.”
