24 October 2010

Agility, a leading global logistics provider, was recognized as a ‘supply chain management’ category winner of the 2010 European Outsourcing Award (EOA). Agility received the award for its innovative, tailored and integrated supply chain solution for key customer Kedrion a leading producer and worldwide retailer of medical products made from human blood plasma.

“Getting this award is a big honor for our efforts in the set-up of the Kedrion supply chain solution model over the past year,” said Gabor Kovacs, general manager of Agility Hungary after receiving the award.  “It was a great feeling having a satisfied customer at the ceremony.”

The Agility Hungary team provided Kendrion with a combination of warehousing, new technology and state-of-the-art security solutions.  This tailored solution not only offered innovative and highly customized services but allowed lower monthly operational costs for the customer. The Agility team also demonstrated its ability to combine logistics with specialized capabilities in pharmaceuticals with the commitment of personal service to meet the complex needs of the customer.

Beat Simon, CEO GIL Europe congratulated the Agility Hungary team and said, “Thank you for your efforts.  This is a great achievement and confirmation that our expansion strategy in Eastern Europe is paying back. This award acknowledges Agility’s commitment to developing specialized solutions for our customers.  The acquired pharmaceutical expertise is a building block in growing Agility’s footprint in this industry across Europe.”

Launched in 2005, the European Outsourcing Awards recognizes new and significant developments in contract services.  The award ceremony was held in Paris and was attended by 315 guests that represented more than 100 global companies.
