02 April 2009

Hamilton, New Zealand: The New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays organisation has announced it has appointed Agility as its official logistics partner for the 2009 Fieldays, the largest international agricultural exhibition and market in the Southern Hemisphere, which will be held in Hamilton, New Zealand in June, 2009.

In 2008 Fieldays hosted 131,629 visitors and nearly 1,000 exhibitors.

Agility, a leading global logistics provider, is a market leader in specialised logistics for exhibitions, through its Agility Fairs & Events division.

National Agricultural Fieldays General Manager, Barry Quayle said “We are delighted to have Agility on board as part of Fieldays. The logistical demands of an event of the scale of Fieldays are immense, and we expect Agility’s involvement to assist exhibitors, visitors and the Fieldays’ team alike.”

Agility’s New Zealand CEO Anthony Browne said “We see the opportunity to work with Fieldays as multi-faceted. We can assist exhibitors with getting their merchandise and displays to and from the event. We will be on-site for the duration of Fieldays, to assist buyers and sellers to conclude sales through quoting on and arranging for delivery of sold items.”

Robert Moore, Agility's Regional CEO, Fairs and Events, commented, "To be involved in the largest agricultural event in the Southern Hemisphere is very exciting for Agility Fairs and Events. Barry Quayle and his team run a very professional show and together we can make this a smooth operation for all participants".

Barry Quayle said “The event should not be looked at as a ‘show’ rather as an agricultural market place where buyers meet sellers to conduct business. The inclusion of a company with Agility’s global capabilities has the potential to greatly enhance Fieldays, enabling products to be distributed to buyers with greater efficiency".

Fieldays Team Leader, Vanessa Richmond added “Each year Fieldays attracts more overseas interest, from both exhibitors and visitors. Last year a significant number of overseas visitors attended Fieldays. Agility’s global network of 550 offices in over 100 countries provides an important link to facilitate trade with these companies and individuals”.

The 2009 National Agricultural Fieldays will be held at Mystery Creek, south of Hamilton, from 10 – 13th of June.
