Kuwait: Receives renewed ISO 27001 certification for information security for its Kuwait Datacenter.
Following the successful tenure of the BS7799 information security certification, Agility’s Global Datacenter in Kuwait has now been recertified under the ISO 27001 standard. This certification is an Information Security Management System standard issued by the British Standard Institute (BSI) that replaced the BS7799 in 2007. In 2006, Agility was the first logistics company in the Middle East to receive the BS7799 certification for Information Security.
Ismail Abed, Chief Information Officer for Agility explained: “Due to the nature of our global business it is of utmost importance for us to secure not just business data but also customer and employee information. The ISO 27001 certification emphasizes our efforts in information security management for all forms of data including documents, communications, messages, etc. This is the first phase in achieving complete security certification for all our global Data Centers. The next phase has already started in getting our Singapore Data Centre certified.”
The ISO 27001 certification provides ongoing assurance to Agility's customers and partners that their information and data are protected through controlled procedures, policies, and best practices.
Suresh Kumar Venkat, Director – Technology and Strategy for Agility highlighted: “Compliance with these standards helps Agility reduce business risk through controls and processes set in place to minimize security threats and build employee awareness about the importance of the confidentiality of information.”
