SANTA ANA, Calif.: Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has named Michael Robinson as its new Chief Operating Officer for the company’s US-based Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) business group.

Robinson, with over 20 years of logistics operation experience, joins Agility from Schenker U.S., where he was most recently Senior Vice President for the Western U.S. He reports directly to Mike Bible, Chief Executive Officer, Americas Region, Agility GIL, based here.  As COO, Robinson is responsible for overseeing Agility’s US Operations and Product Management.

“Mike has the experience and a strong track record of driving both quality service and strong financial results,” said Bible in making the announcement.  “He will be a key driver in our goals of delivering personal service to customers, creating high quality operations, and producing profitable financial results.”

Since 1999, Robinson was responsible at Schenker Stinnes Logistics for eight western US branch office locations and 250 employees.  During that time, the company was responsible for the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Project.

“It’s exciting to be part of a new global powerhouse like Agility,” said Robinson about his position.  “I feel my years of management in global integrated logistics will contribute greatly in reaching Agility’s ambitious goals.  I’m excited about the challenge and about working for such a dynamic global enterprise.”
