Agility’s specialty chemicals business recognized for global supply chain performance, efficiency and cost saving

London – Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has been recognized with the User of the Year award at the 2010 CAST annual user conference. Agility’s specialty chemicals business was selected for its strategic use of Barloworld’s CAST software, which is used to build mathematical models of the supply chain to optimize everything from manufacturing footprint, warehouse location and transport planning to inventory deployment and end-to-end supply chain strategy.

The award recognized Agility’s recent global supply chain cost-to-market exercise, undertaken for a specialty chemicals manufacturer with a $50 million global supply chain. Agility’s chemical supply chain knowledge and expertise - in combination with sophisticated software applications - delivers significant benefit to Agility’s customers in terms of supply chain performance, efficiency and cost saving, with some projects identifying and delivering savings in excess of 30% and efficiency savings greater than 25%.
