Agility Wins Supply Chain Innovation Award At Leading Industry Awards

9 December 2008

Hong Kong: Agility won the prestigious Supply Chain Innovation Award at the recent Supply Chain Asia Awards in Shanghai. In a ceremony packed with 350 leading logistics industry professionals, Agility landed the highlight award of the evening, beating competition from other leading global logistics companies. The award judges included academics and logistics industry leaders from across the Asia Pacific region.

“We would like to thank the readers of Supply Chain Asia who nominated Agility as finalists and the judges for bestowing this honour on us. It is an award that reflects our holistic approach to our service offering, our flexibility in meeting customer’s needs across the supply chain in the Asia Pacific region and around the world,” said Wolfgang Hollermann, Agility, CEO, Asia Pacific. He continued, “In New Zealand we launched a CarbonZero freight product this year, while we continue to develop industry-leading products in many other areas.”

Agility was voted as a finalist by readers of Supply Chain Asia, a leading, authoritative supply chain journal. The award was accepted by Olaf Tauschke, Agility Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific and presented by Neil Morrison, Partner - Supply Chain, Stones International.

“A major part of Agility’s strategy is to be an innovator offering solutions to our clients and this award reflects how the industry recognises our achievements in this area. An example of this innovation was shown earlier in the year when Agility played a crucial supporting role in successfully transporting 22 tonnes of musical instruments within Pyongyang, on behalf of the world famous New York Philharmonic Orchestra for a debut concert in the North Korean capital. This was the first time that an international logistics company had provided such support. We continue to adapt and change to market requirements on a global scale and are very pleased to accept this award for all Agility staff in Asia Pacific and throughout the world,“ said Tauschke at the awards ceremony.
