Sulaibiya, Kuwait: Employees donate clothing and household items as a part of Agility’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

As part of Agility’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative a Collection Drive was organized by the Agility Squad Leader Program last week. The week-long Collection Drive saw the donation of 75 large boxes of clothing and numerous household items to the local charity - Operation Hope.

The Collection Drive was planned and executed by the Squad Leader Program, led by Operations Manager Henry Rodriguez. The items collected ranged from clothes, books, toys, shoes, furniture, electronic, blankets, infant car seats and sporting gear amongst other items.  Several drop-off points were setup across Agility sites in Kuwait, where employees and staff members donated items for Operation Hope, a local charity that collects donations, clothing, food, and other supplies, for the labor force in Kuwait.   In addition to the drop-off points, the Squad Leader Program facilitated the pickup of heavy items, which were kindly donated by Agility employees, from homes across Kuwait.

Rodriquez explained, “The Squad Leader Program team performed admirably, with pride and great enthusiasm throughout the 6-day period.  It was a success from start to finish; our team leader Anthony Gomes, with the support of his fellow supervisors, performed as leaders do.  They lead their teams exceptionally well and exhibited outstanding leadership.”

The collected items were dropped off at Operation Hope headquarters on June 13, 2009.  Upon arrival, the Squad Leader Program team members volunteered in the reorganization of the Operation Hope facility and the categorization and arrangement of previously donated items stored at Operation Hope.

The members of the Squad Leader Program “feel motivated and enthused about helping the less fortunate; they feel good about themselves and about what they have successfully accomplished,” Rodriguez said.  “The team left Operation Hope Saturday afternoon with a feeling of ‘Mission Accomplished’,” Rodriguez added.

In addition to the Collection Drive, the Squad Leader Program has organized environmental clean-ups in commemoration of Earth Day, managed a recycling program, and setup a children’s playground at the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH).

Frank Clary, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility said, “The Squad Leaders are a great example of Agility’s leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility.  Their commitment to helping others will provide a higher quality of life for those in need.  Agility is proud to have this caliber of employees and to support their interests in improving our community.”
