Basel, Switzerland - Groupe Auchan awards Agility with the freight management of its textile business from Bangladesh to France. Agility provides a Retail Logistics Solution including freight forwarding and destination services, as well as container utilization management services to Auchan. The solution includes consolidation services and provision of detailed visibility at order and item level. A dedicated team on the ground in Bangladesh provides cargo consolidation services for 40 Auchan suppliers. Groupe Auchan will benefit greatly from higher visibility and efficiency, and thus reduced costs.
Groupe Auchan’s decision was based on Agility’s ability to provide an enhanced supply chain solution, including the set-up and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures specifically adapted to Auchan’s requirements.
This agreement is a further testament to Agility’s successful retail service offering. Only recently, the company won retail business with Inditex and Kraft. Agility is proud of the high service level provided for Auchan, managed mainly out of Lille in France, and hope to build on this success even in the midst of the current downturn. The company will continue to focus on delivering services that fit the specific requirements of individual industries.
